#ScoooreSL-players in the national teams

The Scooore Super League was paused the past few weeks to accommodate international matches.

The qualifying campaign for the 2022 European Championship is in full swing. Several players from our Scooore Super League played for their countries. An overview!

Our Red Flames played two European Championship qualifying matches. They beat Romania 6-1 in Leuven on Friday 18 September, while losing 2-1 in and against Switzerland on Tuesday 22 September. Eight of the evelen starting players against Romania play in our Scooore Super League: Nicky Evrard and Chloé Vande Velde (KAA Gent Ladies), Laura Deloose, Laura De Neve, Kassandra Missipo, Tessa Wullaert (RSC Anderlecht) and Davinia Vanmechelen (Standard Fémina de Liège). Marie Minnaert (Club YLA) and Lola Wajnblum (Standard Fémina de Liège) played in the second half. Tessa Wullaert, captain of our Red Flames, scored three times. Stefania Vatafu played the full match for Romania. She also plays for RSC Anderlecht. Her teammate Laura Rus, who scored the only Romanian goal, was at RSC Anderlecht last year. She has since left the team and our league.

Four days later, six players from the Super League started the match against Switerland: Nicky Evrard (KAA Gent Ladies), Laura Deloose, Laura De Neve, Kassandra Missipo, Tessa Wullaert (RSC Anderlecht) and Marie Minnaert (Club YLA). It was Marie Minnaert’s first appearance in the starting line-up of Belgian Red Flames. The match ended in a close 2-1 loss. Tessa Wullaert scored her 46th goal in 92 international matches.

In October, the Scooore Super League will again take a break to accommodate international matches. The Belgian Red Flames will play in and against Lithuania on 27 October. The next home match is on 1 December in Leuven against Switzerland.
